Food Insecurity on George Washington University’s Campus

Problem

Students do not have the financial capability to access the recommended amount of food daily. The average cost of one meal in D.C. is more than the daily budget for a student living with a kitchen in their dorm. This has led to 39% of the student population facing food insecurity. Students are then put in a position to choose the most economical food items instead of healthy, nutritional options.

Task

Design ways for students to share resources or bring down costs for food on campus.
