Infusion Chair Scheduling System
Problem
The GW Cancer Center has 21 infusion chairs, and 1 nurse per 3 chairs. Infusion sessions can last anytime from 30min to 8h. The current tracking system is a spreadsheet that requires two highly trained individuals to maintain. If a new employee came in, it would be impossible to explain all the variables to him/her easily. The system needs to be simplified. Also, certain times during the day they is a long wait for patients to wait for an infusion chair. Other times, the chairs are underutilized.
Task
Create a scheduling system that will maximize the time these infusion chairs are used.
